This isn't really a good plan, it's sort of a half-plan, but in the past this has usually been all we've needed to have an awesome time! At noon on October 22, we'll be meeting at the Summit Mall, right in the middle underneath the giant Celestia sunburst. We will hang around at the mall for a while, then go on an adventure and shop for ponies, eat some delicious food somewhere, and then go to a hotel to watch ponies (and possibly also sleep).Sunday is still largely undecided. We are also open to suggestions for cool stuff to do from anypony in the Akron area!

ReplyDeleteYou can go to Mid-Ohio Comic Con. There's supposedly some kind of meetup there, but the details are all in a private Facebook event so I don't know anything about it and therefore can't post it on the blog. :(
Akron isn't too far from Columbus, and neither is Springfield. Also, there's a number of people in/near the Columbus area who would probably be willing to give you a ride if that's the problem.
Awesome! I just might be there! Though I have the ACT the 22nd..we'll see if I have the energy afterwards and if it doesnt run past the meet-up time :)

ReplyDeleteThat's really close to Columbus... like I said to ShazGuy, you could probably get a ride, or go to the meetup at Mid-Ohio Comic Con instead if Akron's too far. Though I have taken to driving most of the way across Ohio on a weekly basis lately. It's not a terribly large state. :)
We try to have meetups all over the state, and you're also entirely welcome to host your own. We can even help plan out a date, put it on the Ohio Bronies calendar, and publicize it here on the blog for you, so all you need to do is pick a location and show up.
I live in Cortland and would love to come, unfortunately I wouldn't be able to make it until around 6:30PM so I'm going to have miss this one. Hopefully next time tho!

ReplyDeleteYou're still totally welcome to show up at the hotel for the night - we'll probably be up most of the night, and we will be doing stuff on Sunday, too. Unless somepony else sets up a meetup, this is probably the closest to NE Ohio that we'll be for a while - the next few meetups will be like 3 hours away! The hotel and next day are probably going to be more interesting than hanging out at the mall anyway.
